Kylie Jean went for her first doctors appointment since coming home Saturday. She’s now 4 lbs. 15.5 ozs and 18.5 inches long. Dr. Levy says she’s progressing nicely and we just need to keep her germ free until early March. We see him again on March 8th and hopefully we’ll be able to share her with more of you.

Kylie Jean Conklin came home today at 4:30pm. So far everyone is doing well and “big sister” Cassandra is thrilled to have her home. Kylie’s feeding increased to 45 cc’s every 3 hours and her weight is back up to 4lbs 7oz. We’ll take Kylie to Dr. Levy on Tuesday morning for a follow-up.

Kylie is feeding like a champ - 30 cc’s every 3 hours. Being she’s not struggling to eat, they removed her IV today.

She passed her hearing test this morning and her weight remains at 4lbs 8oz.

Kylie was moved to a step-down unit in the NICU. She was taken off of the photo therapy today at 11am, as her billirubin levels were at 6.2 today. Her feedings were increased as her IV fluids were decreased. Little by little each day is the approach they are trying to take.

Kara was released from the hospital today, and Big Sister Cassandra was so excited to have Mommy home. This evening after her bath, Kara did the 8pm feeding and Kylie was then moved from the Isolette/Incubator to an open aired crib. As of 11pm, she was able maintain a steady body temperature. She gained a little weight, and is now at 4lbs 8oz.

Craig and I would like to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. We truly appreciate it.

Kylie’s feedings were increased to 20 cc’s every 3 hours. As her feedings are increased (hopefully daily), her I.V. fluids will be decreased. Kylie’s weight is now at 4 lbs, 7 ounces. Her billirubin numbers/levels were up to 10.2 so she’s now under the “blue lights” (photo therapy) and they will continue to monitor her twice daily. At close of visiting hours, Kylie was up to 4 lbs, 7.6 ounces.

Note : Kara is being released on Monday 2/12/2007 and will now go back and forth to continue Kylie’s feedings.

Kylie’s feedings increased to 15 cc’s every 3 hours. Feeding tube was removed. Billirubin number/levels up to 8.7, which was up from 7.7 earlier in the day. Kara is now able to perform the feedings during the days.

Its now time to announce the birth of Kylie Jean, on Thursday February 8th, 2007 at 12:11am. She is 4 pounds 11 ounces, and is 16 inches long. No pictures yet, but here is more info from Deana :

All is well. Mom and baby are both doing fine. After a week at St. Barnabus bouncing back and forth between the high-risk unit and labor & delivery, with intermittent bleeding and continually increasing contractions, Kara delivered Kylie Jean via cesarean this morning at 12:11 am. She is 4 pounds, 11 ounces. When I left the hospital at 1:30 am, Kylie was breathing with assistance (oxygen via nasal canula); when I spoke with Kara earlier, I learned that she’s been breathing on her own for the last four hours or so. Her apgars were good as well. They think that they can try to bottle feed her within the next few hours - 5 cc’s to start - so it’s all looking pretty good in my opinion.Kara will be in the hospital until Monday (2/12) and Kylie for 2½ weeks (because the goal is to keep her there until her due date, which would have been 36 weeks since they were planning to test the lung maturation on March 2nd and, if all signs were good, deliver her via cesarean right then and there).
